About Us

Vancouver Island School of Innovation and Inquiry or VISII (pronounced vee-sigh) is Victoria’s most affordable inquiry learning option for Grades 5, 6, 7, and 8. VISII is closely modelled on the Pacific School of Innovation and Inquiry (PSII).

In 2022-23, VISII enters its third year of operations. In 2020-21, we operated as a learning centre. As of July 1, 2021, VISII had interim certification from the Ministry of Education to operate as an independent school. In 2022, VISII became a fully fledged independent school.

COVID-19 Contigency Plans: We follow all of the public health guidelines. Our school’s physical space is big enough that our entire cohort of students can spread out between the rooms. We’ll be outside frequently. When indoors, we meet the guidelines for cleaning, sanitizing, mask-wearing, and social-distancing.

VISII offers one of the smallest “learning groups” in BC. Our entire school cohort is smaller than the average public middle school class. And there is only one learning group in our school and thus no chance of your child’s learning group intermingling with other learning groups.
