Why VISII

A different kind of middle school experience.

We built VISII to be the kind of school that lets real questions lead, knows every learner by name, and treats the world beyond its walls as part of the classroom.

Inquiry-Led

Learners help steer their own path — real projects and questions, not a standardized curriculum.

Learning starts with a genuine question. Our educators teach across subjects rather than in silos, so a single inquiry can weave together science, history, writing, and art the way the real world does.

01

Intimate & Known

One of the most intimate learning groups in Victoria — every teacher knows every child.

A high teacher-to-student ratio means your child is never a number. From maker spaces to quiet rooms, the day flexes to how each learner works best, with the individual support they need to thrive.

02

Grounded in the Real World

A biweekly outdoor program, field trips, and community guest speakers all year.

We learn beyond the classroom walls — on the land, in the community, and alongside people doing real work. Curiosity becomes capability when it meets the world outside.

03
The VISII logo — a fern frond unfurling from an open book

Our mark is a fern, mid-unfurl — the shape of a question becoming an answer.

The inquiry approach

Real questions, taught across subjects — not boxed into periods.

Our educators take a multidisciplinary, multimodal approach. Rather than teaching subjects in silos or limiting kids by grade level, we follow genuine questions wherever they lead — through science, history, writing, art, and out into the world.

“The inquiry model has been a game changer for our family.”
— Brett, VISII parent

From our families

Parents see the difference.

More engagement, more confidence, a child who actually looks forward to school each day…

Seeing our daughter go from dreading school each day in the public system, to absolutely loving it at VISII, has been a gift. She's found her place and her people, and we couldn't be more grateful.
EEmily
Parent of a Grade 6 student
The educators have worked so hard to build an inclusive learning community, and our son is engaged with his learning in new and exciting ways. The inquiry model has been a game changer.
BBrett
Parent of a Grade 6 student
Since my son started attending VISII, he needs fewer breaks, and has found more passion and focus. I don't know where we would be today without this amazing school.
JJackie
Parent of a Grade 8 student
Seeing my child flourish in the inquiry-based system has been one of the greatest scholastic joys so far. They've become a balanced critical thinker during what is typically the hardest age.
DDeloris
Parent of a Grade 8 student
We feel very fortunate. He has been thriving in the inquiry learning model, is inspired by his teachers, and has found his social community.
